Former Patriots S Rodney Harrison Slams Bill Belichick For 4th Down Call

said Bill Belichick’s doomed decision to go for it on fourth down against the Colts on Sunday night was “the worst decision” in his coaching career.
Belichick authorized Tom Brady to throw on fourth down at the Patriots’ own 28-yard line with 2:08 left. The Patriots gained just a yard, and the Colts responded with a 29-yard scoring drive that clinched a come-from-behind 35-34 win.
“It was a really bad decision by coach Belichick,” Harrison said in his role as an analyst for NBC. “He has to punt that ball.
“You cannot give Peyton Manning an opportunity on the 30-yard line.”
Belichick said he “tried to win the game on that play.”
“I thought we could make the yard,” he said. “We had a good play, we completed it. I don’t know how we could not get a yard on that completion, but I guess we didn’t.”
Harrison said Belichick may have damaged the confidence of his defense by refusing to put the game in their hands.
“The message that he’s sending in the locker room is: I have no confidence in the young guys on my defense.”
Do you think Bill Belichick should have gone for it on 4th down?
