Gators QB Tim Tebow Struggles In 31-13 Loss At The Senior Bowl

Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow had a very shaky outing running a pro-style offense against a sturdy North defense in the 2010 Senior Bowl.

He fumbled twice and finished 8 of 12 passing for 50 yards in the showcase for senior NFL prospects. Tebow’s longest completion was 11 yards and he netted 4 yards on four rushes, but was never turned loose as a power runner as he often was with the Gators.

Tebow led the South to a couple of first downs before Koa Misi stripped the ball from him. He had another fumble on the next drive but lineman Jeff Byers fell on the ball.

He battled strep throat early but didn’t miss any practice time during a week when he was trying to prove to skeptical NFL teams and draft analysts that he could be a starting pro quarterback.

I think that Tim Tebow has hurt himself playing this game, although I applaud his efforts, he proved all the skeptics right, he’s yet to prove that he can play from under center.

The only way Tebow survives as quarterback in the NFL is if someone is willing to change their offense for him, otherwise its H-Back or Tight End he goes. My prediction, someone will like the Buffalo Bills or Jacksonville Jaguars will take him in the second round when he really should be a fourth round pick.

Jacksonville is on the verge of losing their franchise so a hometown pick like Tim Tebow would not only be a great football move if the Jaguars are willing to change their offense around for him, it would be a tremendous business move, ticket sales would sky rocket and therefore change the entire face of the franchise having local legend playing for their hometown team.

Buffalo has Chan Gailey as their new head coach and had a similar quarterback when he coached at Georgia Tech named Reggie Ball. Gailey would love to have a guy like Tim Tebow running his offense, not to mention the Bills are in bad shape at the quarterback position. The problem I see with Tebow being in Buffalo is playing in the cold weather, Tebow has played his entire career in Florida and will have to get used to playing in snow and possibly below freezing temperatures.
