Giants Sign Former Bucs WR Michael Clayton

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants have added former Buccaneers wide receiver Michael Clayton to their roster late Tuesday night.

Clayton, a first-round pick of the Buccaneers in 2004, was cut by Tampa Bay in the preseason and had played for the UFL’s Omaha Nighthawks in the interim. He had a hugely productive rookie year (80 rec., 1,193 yards, 7 TDs) but never approached that production in his next five seasons.
