Glades Central ATH Greg Dent Switches Commitment From Miami To FSU

dentmuckbowl09

Greg Dent, the talented wide receiver/defensive back at Glades Central, has announced that he is de-committing from Miami and instead plans to sign with in-state rival Florida State.

Actually, this should come as no surprise. Dent has said from the start of the recruiting journey that he wants to play wide receiver in college and that FSU was his first choice.

However, FSU was slow in making an official offer to Dent, so he gave a verbal commitment to UM last month. Within hours of hearing about Dent’s decision, FSU offered Dent a scholarship.

Miami recruited Dent as a defensive back, but Glades Central coach Jessie Hester said recently that he thinks Dent would be a better wide receiver “hands down” than defensive back at the next level. So when FSU told Dent this week that the Seminoles want him as a receiver, it was not difficult for Dent to change his mind.

“It’s always been a dream for me and I just couldn’t pass that up once they told me I could play wide receiver,” Dent told Rivals.com

Funny how these things work themselves out in the crazy world of football recruiting.
