Hall of Fame, Deciding Game; McNabb vs Warner, In Or Out???

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner have alot more riding on this than a trip to the Super Bowl, I think this game will decide their Hall of Fame fates.

Donovan McNabb has the numbers to get into the Hall of Fame, the only issue with him is he hasn’t won a Super Bowl. That’s why this game is huge, because I don’t think McNabb will be voted in unless he wins one. I’m not saying I believe he isn’t one, because in my book just for getting into the playoffs and the NFC Championship again without a Hall of Famer on his offense is enough for me, but the voters will see it differently.

I believe McNabb needs to get in the Super Bowl and win to get into the Hall. He already has one strike against him because he’s a black quarterback. Yes, I know Warren Moon is in, but Moon had numbers that even the Hall of Fame voters couldn’t deny. Being black in the USA period, you have to go above and beyond to get the recognition you deserve especially being a black quarterback. With above average numbers and no Super Bowl Championships, McNabb will not get in. He has to win this game and the Super Bowl to get in.

Warner on the other hand has the Super Bowl win, but had two future Hall of Famers on his offense (running back Marshall Faulk and wide receiver Isaac Bruce). Not to mention possible Hall of Famer’s wide receiver Torry Holt and left tackle Orlando Pace.

Warner has the ring but I don’t think he’s a Hall of Fame certainty because he had a great supporting cast around him. There are also alot of quarterbacks out there with one ring and has a better chance of getting in at this point than Warner.

I believe all Warner has to do is get into the Super Bowl and he will be in the Hall. He will be a first ballot Hall of Famer if he wins it this year because not only will he be the first quarterback to lead two different teams to a Super Bowl, but he will definetly be the first to win it with two different teams.

We shall see who comes out on top of this game, but my predicition is that it will be a great showing between to borderline Hall of Famers.

Great topic, but the real question will be can either team (Philly or Arizona) get past the defenses of the AFC (Ravens or Steelers)?? I don’t think so.

I agree with you, I don’t think they will be able to handle the AFC defenses and if they do, that’s even more of a reason why they should be in.

Before the Cardinals made it to the NFC Championship I would have said no to Warner making it to the HOF. We all know how ESPN and other media outlets have a persuasive hand in changing the minds of voters. After viewing pieces on Kurt’s off the field positive living, he’ll be a shoe in. I can only imagine how they’ll hype up his image even more so if they make the Super Bowl.

Donovan needs a ring to even begin talking about him entering the HOF.

BTW, if Bruce Smith gets in, which I’m sure he will…its off too Canton I go in August!

Bruce Smith will get in and if he doesn’t I will not watch any pro football at all in 2009, i will strictly watch college.
