Hurricanes Fire Offensive Coordinator Patrick Nix

Patrick Nix was fired Monday after two seasons as Miami’s offensive coordinator.

Miami was 7-6 this season and sputtered at times on offense, yet showed improvement in some areas during the second half of the year. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough to keep Nix in place as offensive coordinator.

Nix said he and Shannon simply had different styles on how to best run an offense. Nix wants to run a more conservative offense and Shannon prefers a more aggressive style.

The Hurricanes were 89th in total offense this season with 326 yards per game and 52nd in scoring offense with 27.1 points per contest.

Nix came to Miami after five seasons at Georgia Tech, three of those as offensive coordinator.

I wanted this firing to happen after last year but I guess Shannon decided to give him one last year to show if he could improve and he didn’t so time for a new guy at the helm. GREAT MOVE SHANNON!!!
