Interview With Auburn Tigers CB Walter McFadden

MKRob: When did you start playing football?
Walter: I start playing football at the age 7
MKRob: What position did you play in little league?
Walter: I played tight end, quarterback, running back and safety
MKRob: What are you favorite football teams?
Walter: Favorite football team are the Colts and Cowboys.
MKRob: What’s the difference between playing at Ely and Auburn?
Walter: The difference is the game is faster and players are a lot bigger. You have to know what the defensive line and linebackers are doing plus your position.
MKRob: Why did you pick Auburn over other college programs?
Walter: Well I was committed to Florida but Ron Zook got fired, so I open my options back up and Auburn was recruiting me pretty hard and they stayed with me through the whole process and putting their faith in me so that’s how I became an Auburn Tiger.
MKRob: What other schools were you recruited by?
Walter: Florida, South Florida, Miami, Illinois and Michigan.
MKRob: What’s the difference between playing for Coach Tuberville and Coach Chizik?
Walter: The difference is that Coach Chizik is a hands on guy he works with all positions on the field and helps teach what that player is doing wrong. Coach Tub was a meeting guy he let the coaches coach and then he goes in and watch film and tell the coaches what need to be fix.
MKRob: Who do you pattern your game after?
Walter: Al Harris and Bryant McFadden the two best cornerbacks.
MKRob: What other sports have you played?
Basketball and Baseball.

MKRob: What is your most memorable football moment?
Walter: I have a lot of those.. I guess one is Peyton Manning was at the Tennessee game versus Auburn and the score was 14 to 7 Auburn was up in the fourth quarter and Tennessee scored to make the score 14 to 12 and Peyton said go for 2 and I stop the play. I was excited because I felt like stop Peyton.
MKRob: What kind of music do you listen to before the game?
Walter: I listen to alot of music… Gospel, Rap, Hip Hop, Jazz, R&B and Pop.
MKRob: Who are your favorite artists?
Walter: Rick Ross, Plies and Lil Wayne
MKRob: What are your goals for this year?
Walter: To have over 40 tackles and 4 interceptions.. That will be good senior season… otherwise anything that helps Auburn win.
MKRob: If you could play against one team at any level, who would it be and why?
Walter: I would love to play against the Patriots because you have to bring you’re A game on every play. They are just a smart team, they barely get penalties and they play as a team with no stars just blue collars.
MKRob: What game are you most looking forward to this season?
Walter: All.
MKRob: What are your plans for after football?
Walter: My long term dream is to play in NFL but I know the lord has plans for me and if one of those is to play in the National Football League then that’s where I will be, otherwise I would run the family business with a degree in business and finish strong there.
