MKRob: When did you start playing softball competitively?

Monica: I started playing travel ball in 6th grade

MKRob: What other sports do you enjoy or like to watch?

Monica: I love playing any sport, esp basketball, and watching football. In general I would rather play than watch.

MKRob: If any, who are or were your favorite players and teams past and present?

Monica: Anything Tennessee, SF Giants, Randy Johnson, Peyton Manning, Curt Schilling, Tampa Bay, etc.

MKRob: What are three songs in your Ipod/mp3 player that are from different genres of music?

Monica:

MKRob: Who is your inspiration?

Monica: I play to glorify God, and to inspire those that watch

MKRob: What is your favorite kind of music?

Monica: Hard question–I like anything that gets me going. Mostly: hip hop, country, rock

MKRob: What do you do to stay in shape and what do you eat?

Monica: I have to be in pitching shape so throw a lot of different types of wk outs. Run to keep my legs strong. I eat a lot of chicken. Soda is a rare treat.

MKRob: Out of all the awards you’ve won, which is most special?

Monica: The Olympics, and the NCAA strikeout record

MKRob: What is the difference between playing softball in college and the pros?

Monica: The pros is do what you need to do, college is you have to do this.

MKRob: What do like to do away from the field?

Monica: Go to dinner with my teammates, Music, Wii

MKRob: I know you wanted to win Gold, but how did it feel to win a Silver
Medal in Beijing?

Monica: We wanted Gold bad, but I have to be grateful for opportunity to compete for my country.

MKRob: What are your plans for the 2012 Olympics?

Monica: Well, in case you didn’t know, Softball got voted out for 2012– so check out BackSoftball.com –we have to get it in for 2016!!

MKRob: What advice do you have for girls that have dreams of playing professional softball?

Monica: Work hard, stay focused and most importantly always have fun out there!

MKRob: What are your plans after your softball career is over?

Monica: I would like to get into broadcasting and public speaking but who knows.
