Jaguars LB Justin Durant Named AFC Defensive Player Of The Week

was been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week Wednesday for his performance in the team’s 23-18 win over the Houston Texans.
It’s the first time in Durant’s three-year career that he’s won the award.
“Of course, I’m really happy,” Durant said. “You’ve got to be honored to receive an award like that, especially [to be recognized] out of the whole conference. Everybody’s playing hard every day. So to be acknowledged is really good.” Durant had eight tackles, a sack and intercepted a pass and returned it 27 yards to set up a Josh Scobee field goal against the Texans.
In nine games this season, Durant has posted double-digit tackle totals (including a career-high 17 stops at Tennessee) four times.
