Jaguars Release All-Time Leading Rusher Fred Taylor

Former Florida Gator and Jacksonville Jaguars all-time leading rusher, running back Fred Taylor was released today after 11 seasons in Jacksonville.
The Jaguars were obviously looking to save money here because Taylor was scheduled to make six million dollars this season. Since he is only the second option for the Jaguars, they felt the price tag was too high for a 2nd string running back.
Taylor is 16th on the all-time NFL rushing list with 11,271 yards and is the third veteran to be released from the team. Veteran’s wide receiver Jerry Porter and cornerback Drayton Florence were sent packing earlier in the offseason.
GOOD LUCK FRED!!!

I don’t think Fred will stay a free agent for long. In today’s game teams needs two RBs in the backfield. What he may not rec’d is a big payday.
Other than Stroud who else did the Jaguars lose last year to warrant the season they had? HORRIBLE!!!
@ pigskinlovinglady I think he will sign back with the Jaguars
Cheers to the best back that ever played for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
First of, love you blog.
Second, I hate to see him go. Taylor gave my Ravens big problems his first few years before the league realigned the divisions.
I’m a Gators follower, so I have a soft spot for him, though. I hope he finds a new home soon.
PS- C Mac is all yours now
@ The NFL Chick Thank you very much!!!
