Jets LB Calvin Pace Out 4-6 Weeks With Broken Foot

According to ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter, Jets linebacker Calvin Pace has been diagnosed with a broken foot and will miss the next four to six weeks.

Pace will undergo surgery on Monday in Charlotte, NC. The 29-year-old was injured during Friday night’s pre-season game against the Washington Redskins.

Ryan originally hoped Pace would be out for just two weeks but the preliminary prognosis is that he will be out much longer than that.

Pace recorded 55 tackles and eight sacks in 12 games for the Jets last season, his second with the team.

“It’s a big loss, there’s no doubt,” Ryan said Friday. “But we’re fortunate. We have a lot of depth at that position.”

Former Miami Dolphins start Jason Taylor is expected to take Pace’s outside linebacker spot in the starting lineup.
