Jets Roll Past The Vikings 29-20; Favre Gets 500th TD Pass
The New York Jets didn’t really have one star in this game but if you had to pick two people in particular that made a difference in this game it would be running back Shonn Greene, who scored a touchdown with 4:30 remaining and cornerback Dwight Lowery who sealed the victory with a 26-yard interception return for a score, as the New York Jets held off the Minnesota Vikings 29-20.
Jets kicker Nick Folk led all scorers with five field goals converted in a game that was delayed 45 minutes at the start due to lightning. Mark Sanchez completed 21-of-44 passes for 191 yards for the Jets, LaDainian Tomlinson led all rushers with 98 yards on 20 carries and Braylon Edwards caught five balls for 70 yards.
In a losing effort, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre passed to historic milestones, passing for over 70,000 yards and getting his 500th touchdown pass, which was caught by the new/old Viking wide receiver Randy Moss. The Vikings newest acquisition caught four balls for 81 yards and Percy Harvin led all receivers with five catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns.
The Vikings will face the Dallas Cowboys at home on Sunday and the Jets will go to Denver to face the Broncos.
