Jets WR Braylon Edwards With Great Game In Debut Vs Dolphins

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan looked like he got a steal after the debut of wide receiver Braylon Edwards Monday night against the Miami Dolphins.
Edwards totaled 10 catches for 139 yards and 0 touchdowns in his four games with the Cleveland Browns this season. He finished the game last night with five catches, 64 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort. One of those catches seemed to be a touchdown when he got both feet in along the sidelines and seemingly crossed the goal line but was ruled otherwise by the officials.
People asked me this weekend how did I think Braylon would do in New York, would he continue to drop passes or would he revert back to his 2007 form where finished the season with 80 catches, 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns?
My answer to that question is Braylon would be alot better when he got to New York for two major reasons, one, a change of scenery, Edwards seems to show up in big games, especially Monday night, in New York, every game is big, its a big city.
The Browns are rarely seen on national TV, therefore there are no big games and two, he’s in a place where he can be successful, he has talent around him, he didn’t have that in Cleveland. I think when the Browns got rid of now Buccaneers tight end Kellen Winslow, that was it for Braylon. He was the only weapon they had and he would feel alot of pressure to be the ONLY weapon in Cleveland.
Now that Braylon has a TEAM that has talent and that can back him 100%, I think it takes the pressure off of him and he now can minimize the drops and be more successful in an up and coming offense. It goes to show you, sometimes its not the player, its the team.
