Lions Re-Sign QB Shaun Hill To A One-Year Deal
The Detroit Lions signed quarterback Shaun Hill to a one-year contract extension on Monday.
The extension will keep Hill in Detroit through the 2011 season.
He had one year remaining on his contract when the Lions acquired him from the San Francisco 49ers for a seventh-round draft pick in 2011.
Financial details on the 2011 season were not available, but he will earn $1.5 million backing up Matthew Stafford this season.
The 49ers agreed to let Hill pursue trade opportunities after signing David Carr earlier in the offseason.
It took him less than 48 hours to strike a deal with Detroit.
Hill is a five-year veteran of the NFL.
News of the signing was first reported by the Associated Press.
