Lions WR Nate Burleson Fined $15,000 For Kicking Football

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson was fined $15,000 by the National Football League on Wednesday.

The Free Press quoted Burleson as saying the fine was levied because he kicked the football into the stands after a third-quarter touchdown reception, while also lifting his jersey to reveal a t-shirt with a message printed on it.

The kick drew a 15-yard penalty, but it was not a factor in the Lions’ 44-6 rout of the Rams last Sunday.
