LSU CB Patrick Peterson Strikes Heisman Pose After Punt Return TD
A 60-yard punt return for a touchdown by LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson gave the 15th-ranked LSU football team at 17-point lead, and the Tigers defense allowed only 157 yards in a 20-14 win over No. 22 West Virginia on Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium.
Peterson returned his second punt return for a touchdown this season and is trying to show the nation that he should be considered a Heisman Trophy candidate by striking the Heisman pose.
After the first game of the season against the North Carolina Tar Heels, I wrote a story entitled, LSU CB Patrick Peterson A Heisman Trophy Candidate? and he’s really coming through by playing tremendous defense and affecting field position for the LSU offense, but the head coach Les Miles needs to get Peterson in on offense in order for him to truly be a Heisman Candidate in the eyes of the voters.
Peterson is playing like former Michigan Heisman Trophy winner and current Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson with the exception of the offense Woodson gave the Wolverines. The LSU offense is not playing well at all and they need a spark on offense.
Message to Les Miles: PLAY PATRICK PETERSON AT WIDE RECEIVER!!!
