LSU QB Jordan Jefferson Suspended After Arrest In Bar Fight

LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and teammate Joshua Johns were released on $5,000 bond each yesterday in connection with a bar fight that injured four people.

The two players turned themselves in after police in Baton Rouge obtained arrest warrants on felony charges of second-degree battery, stemming from their alleged roles in a fight outside Shady’s Bar last Friday night.

The players also have been suspended indefinitely.

With Jefferson suspended, the starting quarterback job will likely go to senior Jarrett Lee with former UGA and junior college transfer Zach Mettenberger as his backup.

The LSU Tigers open their season against the 2010 runner-up Oregon Ducks.
