Miami CB Brandon Harris Will Enter The 2011 NFL Draft

According to HurricaneSports.com, Miami Hurricanes junior cornerback Brandon Harris says he will forgo his junior season and enter the 2011 NFL Draft.

“This decision is about what is best for me and my family at this point in my life,” said Harris.  “I am confident that I can achieve all my goals at the next level and I am ready to begin that pursuit.

“I have grown up so much as a football player and as a man at the University of Miami.  The relationships that I have built here with the players and coaches will be with me for the rest of my life. In addition to the team and University, I have to give credit to coach Shannon and coach McGriff, who were instrumental in my development.”

“I am going to miss running out of the smoke and playing in a Miami Hurricanes uniform,” said Harris.  “It is exciting, nerve-wracking and unreal all at the same time.  I’m ready to focus on training and I promise I will do everything I can to uphold the legacy of THE U on the NFL stage.” ~ HurricaneSports

Harris has been a great cornerback for the Hurricanes in his three seasons playing in Coral Gables.

In his 39 career games, he recorded 132 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four interceptions, five forced fumbles, two sacks and 28 pass break-ups in his career.

Scouts, Inc. and ESPN.com have Harris ranked as the 32nd best prospect this year and looks to be a late first to early second-round pick.
