Miami QB Jacory Harris Named To The Davey O’Brien Watch List

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris is one of 30 quarterbacks named to the 2010 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List today.

Harris was recognized as the ACC Offensive Back of the Week four times and was a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Quarterback Award last year.

He completed 242 of 406 passes for 3,352 yards and 24 touchdowns and had a 59.6 completion percentage and ranked 30th nationally in passing efficiency (140.09) and fifth in the ACC … His 3,352 yards were the second-most by an ACC quarterback and he ranked third in the conference in passing avg/game (263.7), fifth in total offense (245.5) and fifth passing efficiency (141.6).

This year’s list, which was compiled by a subset of The O’Brien National Selection Committee, features 30 of the nation’s top collegiate quarterbacks who were selected based on player performance during the previous year and expectations heading into the 2010 college football season.

Appearing on the Watch List is not a requirement for a player to be awarded The O’Brien. Quarterbacks from all 120 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools are eligible for the award until the field is narrowed to 16 semifinalists on Monday, Oct. 25. The Foundation and the Selection Committee will announce three finalists on Monday, Nov. 22. The 2010 winner will be announced on The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 9.
