Miami RB Storm Johnson Set To Transfer For Lack Of Playing Time

Miami Hurricanes running back Storm Johnson will transfer after much speculation about his future this spring. The University of Miami made the announcement Tuesday night.

“As of this afternoon, Westleigh Storm Johnson is no longer a part of the University of Miami football program,” Coach Al Golden said in a statement. “When these situations arise, we always assist the student-athlete and his family in the transfer process. We wish Storm success in all future endeavors.” ~ Sun Sentinel

Johnson, a 6-0, 216-pound, finished the spring as Miami’s third string running back and the rising sophomore felt that his chances of any decent playing time was all but dead.

Johnson, a Loganville, Georgia native, could look at going to another I-A school or go to a I-AA school and play right away. I’m sure a school like Georgia Tech or Georgia Southern would love to add Johnson to their roster.
