Miami WR Travis Benjamin Sets School 60-Meter Record

While former teammate and receiving mate Leonard Hankerson was busy becoming the Under Armour Offensive Player of the Game at the 2011 Senior Bowl, junior wide receiver Travis Benjamin was on the track etching his name into Miami’s record books.

Benjamin, who started on the other side of Hankerson this season, tied an 11-year old record set by current Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss.

In the final heat of his first indoor meet of the season, Benjamin finished with a time of 6.70 seconds in the 60 meter dash.

Benjamin’s two other football teammates, freshman running back Lamar Miller and junior cornerback Brandon McGee both advanced to the finals at the meet, where they placed fifth and eight respectively with times of 6.79 and 6.83 seconds.
