Michigan Fires Head Football Coach Rich Rodriguez
The University of Michigan has decided to fire head football coach Rich Rodriguez. The decision comes just three days after getting hammered by Mississippi State 52-14 in the Gator Bowl.
Rodriguez was an awful 15-22 during his three seasons in Ann Arbor.
He lost nine games in his first year at Michigan and has shown very little improvement since that time.
Rodriguez seems to start off great and then falls off at the end of the season. In 2009, Michigan was 5-7 after starting 4-0 last season and turned a 5-0 start into a 7-5 finish this season.
Rodriguez came to Michigan after seven years at West Virginia where he won four Big East conference titles.
Looks like the Wolverines are looking to chase down former Michigan quarterback and current Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh, who looks to be their No. 1 candidate.
