Mike Tyson’s Punch Out Coming To An App Store Near You
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was known in the 90′s for his hard punches and his famous Nintendo game, Mike Tyson’s Punchout.
Those who grew up in the 80′s, like myself, remember this game very well. Your boxer, Little Sammy, was used to work your way up the boxing ranks to fight Mike Tyson, who was at the time, heavyweight champion of the world.
has created a similar experience for the iPhone and iPad that will hit the app store next month.
The game will sell for $0.99, but Rock Software plans to further monetize by letting users buy other athletes that they can use in the game.
The company does digital work for other flamboyant sports stars including Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens and Floyd Mayweather Jr., so we can imagine these in-game purchases being a fairly strong supplemental revenue stream.
