NFL Great Deion Sanders Elected To The 2011 NFL Hall Of Fame
Former NFL all-pro cornerback Deion Sanders was named to the 2011 NFL Hall of Fame class tonight.
Sanders in my opinion is the greatest cornerback to ever play the game. He played for five different NFL teams (Falcons, 49ers, Cowboys, Redskins and Ravens) and was great everywhere he went. In Sanders’ 14 years in the NFL, he intercepted 53 passes, was voted to eight Pro Bowls, was named an all-pro eight times, was named AP defensive player of the year in 1994 and won two super bowl rings in his career.
Sanders was so good of a player that even lined up at wide receiver every now and then and even started for the Dallas Cowboys finishing the 1996 season with 36 catches, 475 yards and a touchdown.
Sanders was not only a great cornerback but a tremendous return man as well. He still holds the record for most non-offensive touchdowns in NFL history with 19.
In my opinion, Deion Sanders is the greatest football player of all-time and this induction was a longtime coming.
The rest of the 2011 NFL Hall of Fame Class includes running back Marshall Faulk, tight end Shannon Sharpe, defensive end Richard Dent, NFL contributor Ed Sabol and linebackers Chris Hanburger and Les Richter.
