North Carolina DT Marvin Austin Suspended Indefinitely

North Carolina head coach Butch Davis has suspended star defensive tackle Marvin Austin indefinitely, according to a release posted on the school’s athletics website.

But Davis made sure to point out that the action was not due to the NCAA probe currently in progress at UNC.

“This decision is not a result of the ongoing NCAA review,” says Davis. “Marvin has violated team rules and has neglected his responsibilities to the team.”

Austin will certainly miss the Tar Heels’ game vs. LSU this weekend, but there was no word on how long the suspension might last.
