According to Chris Sheridan of ESPN, Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony wants out of Denver….NOW!!!

Anthony told the Nuggets organization that he would not sign the nearly $65 million dollar contract extension that was offered to him. Instead, he would rather be traded to the New York Knicks.

After Anthony heard the Knicks fans giving him a standing ovation at the player introductions before their 129-125 loss at Madison Square Garden and them screaming his name out of windows after the game saying, “We need you ‘Melo”, he feels that he would be better of playing in New York.

The New Jersey Nets have offered their #1 pick this year, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy and two No. 1 draft picks to the Nuggets but Anthony will not sign with them long-term and Anthony refuses to with the Nets long-term, which knocks them out of the running.
