NW Missouri State Head Football Coach Scott Bostwick Dies From Apparent Heart Attack
Northwest Missouri State head football coach Scott Bostwick passed away suddenly today after an apparent heart attack. He was 49.
Before becoming head coach on New Year’s Eve 2010, he served as the defensive coordinator under former head coach Mel Tjeersdma.
At his introductory press conference, Bostwick said, “I’ve been a coordinator for 26 years and if I was ever going to be a head coach, this is where I wanted to be. It would be a challenge for anyone to try to walk in Mel’s shoes, but I’m excited for it. It’s what I’ve wanted, it’s why I’ve stayed here and here it is.”
