Oakland Raiders Cut CB DeAngelo Hall; Who’s Next?
After a 2-6 start in Oakland, Al Davis decided to cut cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Hall was traded to Oakland from Atlanta shortly before this season started. The Falcons got second and fifth round draft picks in exchange for Hall. Al Davis signed Hall to a seven-year, $72 million dollar contract expecting to get a shut down corner for his top-ranked defense. What he got was a liability on defense and a waste of money.
Al Davis is just pointing his finger at everyone but himself. He is the one that hired a coach that has never been anything more than an offensive coordinator to be the head coach of a failing franchise. He is the one that spent countless dollars on high priced free agents thinking he could buy a team. Not to mention there are reports saying he is thinking of cutting other high priced players from the Raiders as well. Anyway, I’m glad Hall is out of there, the team is contaminated and needs to be re-constructed like the Miami Dolphins have been. I’m pretty sure DeAngelo Hall will find a gig very quickly. Good luck DeAngelo!!!
