Oklahoma C Courtney Paris Makes Unprecedented Commitment

Oklahoma Sooners center Courtney Paris made an unusual commitment to the University of Oklahoma on Monday stating that she would give the school a full refund on her scholarship if the Sooners don’t win a National Championship this year.

Last week during Sooners Senior Night, Paris made a guarantee that the Sooners would win a National Championship and is now backing it up with this scholarship deal.

At an average of about $16,000 a year, Paris would have to pay about $64,000 if the Sooners fail to win the NCAA Tournament.

Paying it back won’t be easy with a WNBA salary. The top players in the league make less than $100,000 with WNBA rookies earning less than $45,000, Paris would definetly be paying for a while on that debt.

I believe Paris is saying this to get her teammates fired up for the NCAA Tournament and get them to play hard enough to not have her give back the money.

My personal belief is that they will win a National Championship, I’ve seen them play and between Paris, her sister Ashley and guard Danielle Robinson, they should finish as National Champions.

Courtney is a killer underneath the basket scoring, rebounding and defensively for the Sooners. Sister Ashley is a great scorer as is Danielle Robinson.

GOOD LUCK COURTNEY!!!
