Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford Has No Problem Playing For The Redskins
Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford, who has Native American ancestry, on whether he’d have a problem playing for the Washington Redskins: “No.” But you have to wonder whether that would in fact be an issue, based on the followup.
“You know, I’m not gonna address that issue,” Bradford said. “That’s not something I’m gonna worry about now. If that’s something I have to face later on down the road, I will, but there’s really no reason to address that right now.”
But you wouldn’t ask them to not draft you for that reason? “Um, no,” Bradford said with a laugh.
What no one is laughing about is Bradford’s shoulder, which was injured when a BYU defender landed on him. Surgery was required, “a reconstruction of the AC joint,” Bradford said. “They just went in and pretty much with like a nylon braid and put the clavicle back in place and pretty much resecured the joint.
It was a grade 3 separation and from what Bradford heard from doctors, after the second time, for his long-term health, if he wanted to continue playing football and get stronger in the weight room, “I needed to have the surgery,” Bradford said.
