Packers TE Jermichael Finley Becoming Huge Factor On Offense
Jermichael Finley insisted no disrespect was meant. But the question still made the Green Bay Packers second-year tight end chuckle.
The always confident and often brash Finley was asked whether there’s a safety or linebacker that can cover him one on one. Needless to say, Finley got a kick out of the question.
“Nah, nah, nah,” said the 6-foot-5 Finley said. “Not that I’ve seen.”
The thing about Finley is he isn’t just another young player talking trash. Finley has backed it up and never more than in the last month.
Since returning from a sprained knee Nov. 22, Finley has played in five games. In those contests, he has 31 catches for 302 yards and three touchdowns and has become one of the most dangerous tight ends in football.
Finley was terrific in Green Bay’s 37-36 loss at Pittsburgh Sunday, when he hauled in nine passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. Despite his terrific performance, though, the Packers fell short.
