Patriots QB Tom Brady Destroys Dolphins Defense With 517 Yards & 4 TD’s
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady turned in an amazing Monday Night Football performance, shredding the Dolphins secondary for 517 yards and four touchdowns, including a 99-yard touchdown pass to Wes Welker.
Brady and the Patriots defeated the Dolphins 38-24 in a game where New England’s offensive line gave Brady all the time in the world to throw the ball. The Dolphins defense could not get to Brady as he went 32 for 48 and became on the 11th quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 500 yards in a game.
Brady hit eight different receivers including second-year tight ends Aaron Hernandez seven times for 103 yards with a touchdown and Rob Gronkowski six times for 86 yards. Welker finished as the game’s top receiver with eight catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns.
Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne had a great passing performance himself but was not only overshadowed by Brady’s performance but was all but forgotten because of the loss. Henne passed for 416 yards and two touchdowns, including one to former Ohio State Buckeye Brian Hartline and newly acquired running back Reggie Bush.
The Patriots will face the San Diego Chargers next week in their home opener while the Dolphins take on a Texans team that came off a big win against the Colts.
