Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha Pulls Out Of Pro Bowl

According to Paul Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area, Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha will not be playing in the 2011 Pro Bowl.

Asomugha tweaked his ankle in practice on Wednesday but didn’t feel good enough for him to give it a go in Sunday’s all-star game.

Asomugha injured the same ankle earlier in the season after tangling feet with Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver Golden Tate.

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey will replace Asomugha on the AFC squad making this his 10th Pro Bowl, a new record for cornerbacks in the NFL.

The Raiders have been improving steadly and they are back. They have a new look and they are learning how to win again. The team has had a bunch of has beens and a series of new head coaches which took away stability. Now they are some good young players and some good veterans to teach. They will be back in the hunt and they will have a winning season in 2011. Perhaps not a playoff caliber team but a winning team. I saw them twice this year and they looked good. They have perhaps the best kickers in the game and they are still improving. Good to see the gang back and doing well.
