Raiders DE Richard Seymour Says Oakland Will Make The Playoffs
told 1530 Homer radio that he expects Oakland to win a playoff spot.
“You can mark it down,” Seymour told the station, “The Raiders will be in the playoffs in 2009.”
The Raiders improved to 2-4 with a 13-9 win against the Eagles last week. The previous week, they lost 44-7 to the Giants. Raiders LB Greg Ellis said in the days after that game that the team was the “laughingstock of the NFL.”
The Raiders haven’t made the playoffs since 2002, and haven’t won more than five games in any season since.
Their quarterback, JaMarcus Russell, has come under fire from Boomer Esiason and Jeff Garcia, who’ve said he’s not ready to be the team’s starter. He’s completed just 45.6% of his passes and has a passer rating of 51.0 Russell has just two TD passes and six INTs this season.
