Rams RB Steven Jackson Will Face No Charges
St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson will reportedly not have any charges brought against him in the case stemming from accusations of abuse made by a former girlfriend.
In late January, Jackson’s former girlfriend Supriya Harris alleged in a voluntary statement given to the Las Vegas police department that Jackson became physical with her during an argument in March 2009, while she was nine months pregnant.
Harris alleged Jackson became enraged during an argument and repeatedly pushed her to the ground before he grabbed her arm and slammed her against a door.
However, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday that Las Vegas police determined there is insufficient evidence to bring any charges.
The paper quoted a police spokesperson as saying the department performed a thorough investigation, interviewing the alleged victim, an eyewitness and the accused. The spokesperson told the paper it is a closed case.
