Rattlers QB Curtis Pulley Named MEAC Offensive Player Of The Year

Quarterback Curtis Pulley came to FAMU last season just looking for an opportunity to resume his football career.
On Wednesday he picked up the first of what could be many post-season awards for a player whose tumultuous past left him looking for a place to play. Pulley was named the MEAC’s offensive player of the year after leading the Rattlers to an 8-3 record and their first appearance since 2001 in the FCS coaches poll.
The award comes as no surprise for Pulley, who was named MEAC offensive player of the week five times this season. Three of his teammates — kick returner LeRoy Vann, tackle Robert Okeafor and placekicker Trevor Scott — joined him on the All-MEAC first team.
Receiver Kevin Elliott, guard Anthony Collins, center Steven Brazzle and linebacker Bryan Parker were named to the second team.
Pulley, also a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, racked up some incredible statistics in just two seasons. This season alone, he led the conference with 2,705 yards of total offense. He completed 137 of 226 passes (60 percent) for 1,824 yards and 12 touchdowns.
