RB Larry Johnson To Make Bengals Debut Vs Raiders

Former Chiefs running back Larry Johnson should make his Bengals debut against the Oakland Raiders after starting running back and NFL leading rusher Cedric Benson was listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.

Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said after seeing former Chiefs running back Larry Johnson work for the first time in Wednesday’s practice that he could play some Sunday in Oakland if Benson can’t go.

Johnson should come out with a bang, having fresh legs and facing a Raiders defense that has allowed him to rush for 938 yards, the most against any team for an average of nearly 94 yards per game. He had 78 yards against the Raiders back on Sept. 20 in the Chiefs 13-10 loss. Five of his 30 career 100-yard games have also come against Oakland, tied with Denver for the most.

The two-headed monster of Cedric Benson and now Larry Johnson should help the Bengals tremendously as the season goes on and will even be a bigger help in the playoffs.
