Redskins QB Donovan McNabb Wants To Use The Tight End More

Looks like we’re in for a huge season from Redskins tight end Chris Cooley. New quarterback Donovan McNabb told reporters (via the Dallas Morning News) that he envisions going to his tight end a lot more this season.

“The success Houston had last year with (tight end) Owen Daniels before he got hurt is something that we’d like to do in this offense, as well as what Dallas does with Witten,” McNabb told reporters during the Redskins’ mini-camp.

This is no surprise, considering that new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator with the Texans last season.

Cooley played in only seven games last season because of a broken ankle, but appears ready to go this year. So tuck this nugget away in your mind when your fantasy league draft has its inevitable run on tight ends during the middle rounds. Cooley is currently ranked as the No. 11 fantasy tight end on NFL.com.
