Redskins Trade Troubled DT Albert Haynesworth To The Patriots

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Washington Redskins have traded troubled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round draft pick in 2013.

Haynesworth, originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans, signed a seven-year, $100 million dollar contract with the Redskins after being named to two Pro Bowls and being dubbed “the most dominant defensive tackle in the league.”

On June 22, 2010, it has been reported that Clayton Bank & Trust is suing the NFL lineman, alleging that Haynesworth has failed to make payments on a loan in the amount of more than $2.38 million. The suit was filed in the Knox County Chancery Court on June 18, 2010.

According to papers, Haynesworth entered a commercial loan agreement for the original principal amount of $2,381,688.58 on June 27, 2009. On February 27, 2009 the two parties entered into an Extension Agreement with an effective date of February 27, 2010, according to the suit. The attorney for Clayton Bank & Trust, Hugh B. Ward, Jr., is seeking a little over $2.4 million. ~ Wikipedia
