Rutgers QB Tom Savage To Transfer To Miami?

According to multiple reports, Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano has given 2009 Freshman All-American quarterback Tom Savage the go-ahead to contact Miami and Florida about transferring.

Savage, whose grandparents live in South Florida, seems to have Miami as the slight edge over Florida due to the location of his grandparents. I’m sure the signing of incoming freshman phenom Jeff Driskel at Florida will help push Savage towards Coral Gables as well.

Schiano changed his mind after talking with Savage on Monday. The Scarlet Knights head coach declined Savage’s initial request three weeks ago.

Savage passed for 2,211 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions as a freshman. He played in only two games last season before injuring his shoulder and losing his starting job.
