The New Orleans Saints made signed veteran defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson.

The 6-foot-2, 270-pound Wilkerson has played the last two seasons with Tampa Bay after spending the first five years of his career with the Chiefs.

Wilkerson had a breakout year in ’09, posting career highs with 66 tackles, six sacks, and three forced fumbles in 15 starts.

The versatile lineman, who can play end and tackle, has recorded 191 tackles, 12 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 103 career games (21 starts). He also has 48 tackles on special teams.

The Oklahoma product was selected by Kansas City in the sixth round of the 2003 draft.
