According to NFL Network Insider Jason LaCanfora, the Saints plan to work out former Redskins running back Ladell Betts.

The Saints are scrambling to improve their running back depth after receiving the news that Reggie Bush will be out 4-6 weeks.

Betts, who ran for a career high 1,154 yards in 2006, has worked out twice for the Saints this offseason and was briefly in Saints training camp before being cut September 3.
