The #1 North Carolina Tar Heels were knocked out of the ACC Tournament Saturday afternoon by the #22 Florida State Seminoles 73-70.

‘Noles guard Toney Douglas led all scorers with 27 points in this ACC semi-final. Other contributors for the Seminoles were center Solomon Alabi finishing with 11 points and five rebounds and guard Derwin Kitchen who led the ‘Noles in all categories but scoring and blocks had 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.

This is the Seminoles first ever trip to the ACC Finals.

The Tar Heels were without star guard Ty Lawson for this game and it showed. National Player of the Year candidate Tyler Hansborough had 22 points and 11 rebounds two assists and five steals, while Heels leading scorer guard Wayne Ellington had 24 points, three rebounds and three assists.

The ‘Noles will face Duke on Sunday for the ACC Championship.
