South Dominates North 24-10 In Senior Bowl, FSU’s Ponder Wins MVP
When looking at the rosters for the 2011 Senior Bowl, most though that the North team would dominate because of what they had on paper, but the South proved to be too much in this year’s game.
The South team, led by Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder threw two touchdown passes, including a game clinching 23-yarder to TCU wide receiver Jeremy Kerley in their 24-10 thrashing of the North on Saturday evening.
Ponder’s main target was of arguably the Seminoles most hated rival, Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Leonard Hankerson.
Ponder, who went 7 of 13 passes for 132 yards, was looking to make up for missing the ACC championship with an elbow injury and most of the Seminoles’ bowl game thanks to a concussion and looks to have proven to the NFL scouts that he can be factor as an NFL quarterback.
Although there wasn’t much on the North side, Washington Huskies quarterback Jake Locker led a their loan touchdown drive.
