St. Louis Rams In Worse Offensive Slump Since 1942

You have to go back to the days of leather helmets to find a Rams squad that has had more trouble scoring points than the 2009 St. Louis Rams.

The Rams (1-11) are on pace to score 185 points this season, their lowest scoring output for a season since 1942, when as the Cleveland Rams they scored 150 points in 11 games.

Even the woeful 1998 Rams, with Tony Banks as their quarterback and June Henley as their leading rusher with 313 yards, scored 285 points.

That’s 100 more points than is projected for this year’s squad.

Whether it’s stubbornness or a complete faith in his staff and system, Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo rejected the notion that major changes are needed with his anemic offense.
