Stanford F/C Jayne Appel Scores 46 Points Against Iowa State

I watched an amazing performance tonight by a great women’s college basketball player. Stanford Cardinal junior forward/center Jayne Appel scored an amazing 46 points against the Iowa State Cyclones to reach the Final Four of the NCAA Women’s Tournament.
Appel dominated the entire night as she scored more than 50% of Stanford’s points. In the process she became the third highest scorer in the tournament’s history, coming one point shy of Sheryl Swoopes second place finish.
The Cardinal will more than likely face the unstoppable UConn Huskies in the Final Four, so playing a game like this is an outstanding confidence booster for the Cardinal going in to face the #1 team in the country.
Final Score: Stanford 74, Iowa State 53
