Stanford QB Andrew Luck Decides To Skip The NFL Draft
According to , Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck made an unprecedented move today by deciding to stay in school to finish out his college career.
The team most disappointed in this move is the Carolina Panthers and the person happiest about this news is Panthers quarterback Jimmy Clausen.
The Panthers were very likely to pick Luck No. 1 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft had he decided to come out this year. Now Carolina will have to go in another direction, possibly go for soon-to-be-available quarterback Vince Young.
“I am committed to earning my degree in architectural design from Stanford University and am on track to accomplish this at the completion of the spring quarter of 2012,” Luck said in a statement.
Luck had a tremendous junior year passing for 3,338 yards and 32 touchdowns and just eight interceptions, rushing for 513 yards and finishing second to Auburn’s Cam Newton for the Heisman Trophy this year.
Do you think this was a mistake by Andrew Luck?
