Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey Very Likely To Miss Super Bowl
According to a number of sources, it looks like Pittsburgh Steelers rookie center Maurkice Pouncey will likely be unable to go in the Super Bowl.
Pouncey, a former Florida Gator, sustained a high ankle sprain and fracture in that ankle in the Steelers 24-19 victory over the New York Jets in the AFC Championship.
Pouncey’s backup, Doug Legursky is expected to see an expanded workload during practices and if Pouncey is not able to go, Legursky will end up starting in the Super Bowl.
This is a big loss for the Steelers and may prove costly for them for two reasons, one, the center is the guy that makes all the line calls and two, the way Packers defensive tackle B.J. Raji is playing right now, I don’t know if Legursky has enough to slow him down.
Good luck Mr. Legursky
