Tar Heels Dominate Spartans To Win National Championship

Roy Williams and his North Carolina Tar Heels have won the 2009 NCAA Championship Game after defeating Tom Izzo and Michigan State Spartans at Ford Field in Detroit 89-72.
The Tar Heels had this game from the tip-off. They were firing on all cylinders all night long.
The Spartans just had too many missed shots, free throws and turnovers.
The Heels top contributors were guard Wayne Ellington (19 points), forward Tyler Hansborough (18 points) guard Ty Lawson with (21 points) and tying an NCAA Final Four record with eight steals.
The Spartans finish up a nice NCAA Tournament run losing for the second time this year to the Tar Heels. The first matchup’s point deficit was by 35 points.
Izzo got good games from center Goran Suton (17 points, 11 rebounds), guard Kalin Lucas (14 points) and guard Durrell Summers (13 points)
