Houston Texans second string running back Ryan Moats will start on Sunday against the Colts instead of Steve Slaton.

Moats had 23 carries for 126 yards and three touchdowns after Slaton lost NFL leading fifth lost fumble and his job as a starter.

Third-string running back Chris Brown will also get carries. Expect Slaton to be in for passing situations and Brown to be used in short-yardage situations. It makes all of them a risky play.

The Texans can’t afford to turn the ball over if they want to beat the Colts, which is why Moats is probably getting the nod.

The game against the Colts should provide some more answers as to how this backfield will shape up.
